Bay Area Tutoring Association’s Tutor Certification Training workshop for 120 high school tutors in the MATHeasy program at the Milipitas High School Library. Two workshops were held from 11am-2:45pm and the other from 3pm-6:45pm in Part 1 Module 1: What Is Tutoring? providing tutor training and the opportunity for students to earn community service hours. The experience added new training tools to the tutor’s toolbox through tutor theory, videos, activities, discussion and role plays. A more human and holistic perspective on tutoring was provided and instructors encouraged interaction and participation.
