Our beginner app design workshop for students in grades 6 through 12!

Learn how to create your own app! In this class, students will learn the creative process behind creating an app. Students will learn event-based programming using Javascript and coding concepts such as variables and conditional statements, and by the end of the class, create their own app on Code.org.

What it will cover: Students will be introduced to the design process of creating an app, event-based programming using Javascript, and coding concepts such as variables and conditional statements. By the end of the class, students will be able to code their own app on Code.Org using their App Lab.

By the end of the program, the students should:

  • Be familiar with Computer Science and Javascript vocabulary
  • Understand the design process for creating an app
  • Goal: Create an App

Requirements: Excellent reading skills, you will need to read a lot in this class. Excellent math skills. Previous coding experience not required. Classes will be taught on the desktop version of the website, so it’s recommended you also be using a desktop/laptop.
