Intro to Java for Kids (Beginners and Advanced)

About 50 students attended our Introduction to Java Program, which was held at the San Jose Community College Extension in Milpitas at 1450 Escuela Pkwy.  The program consisted of a Beginners class and an Advanced class, both which ran for 105 minutes, 9 weeks, on every Saturday from March 31 until May 26.

The Beginners class went from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM, and was instructed by Bisma Janjua.  This class was for 3rd to 8th graders, who learned fundamental computer science principles, and created their own games, projects, animations and more using Scratch programming and other tools.

The Advanced class went from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM, and was instructed by Ahsan Zahid.  This class was for high school students from grades 9th to 12th, who were taught Java from CollegeBoard AP approved and aligned curriculum.  Using their own laptops, students were taught how to use the Eclipse IDE (Integrated Development Environment) to learn the fundamentals of coding in Java.

We had a great turn out this Spring.  Congratulations to all our junior coders and entrepreneurs for their hard work in this Intro to Java class!
