Tutor Professional Development – Who’s Afraid of Common Core – Demystifying Fractions
Our presenter will be Barbara Schallau from East Side Union High School District.
The workshop will include hands-on activities, group discussion and reference materials used in math classrooms. This event is ideal for professional and part time tutors, elementary school teachers and subs, after-school home work staff and parents who tutor their own children.
About Barbara Schallau: Math Curriculum Coordinator for East Side Union High School District and professional development provider for 25 years. Her specialty is activities for underperforming math students, including special education, ELL, and main stream populations. Besides presenting workshops for school districts, Barbara is a PD consultant for Math Teachers Press and has presented at NCTM national conference, regional conference and all three CMC conferences.
